You have a connection to the Internet, but the Office 365 updates are not downloading.

Office 365 desktop setup might fail to download future updates if the Automatically Detect Settings option has not been selected in the Internet Explorer settings.


In order to enable automatic setting detection, follow the steps given below:

  1. Click on the Tools icon in your browser, and go to Internet options.
  2. Click the Connections tab in the Internet options dialog box, and then go to LAN settings.
  3. Select the Automatically detect settings check box in the Local area network (LAN) settings dialog box and then click on OK.

In case you continue to experience problems with the updates not downloading, you may have to update your proxy server address. In order to do this, in the Local area network (LAN) settings dialog box, in Proxy server tab, click on Use a proxy server for your LAN, and then enter a proxy server address obtained from your administrator.
