On a device running Android 5.0, you want to prevent your device from updating apps automatically.

Follow these steps:

  1. Open Play Store.
  2. Swipe from left edge of the screen to open menu.
  3. Touch Settings.
  4. Touch Auto-update apps.
  5. Select ‘Do not auto-update apps’. If you want to update apps over Wi-Fi to save cellular data, select ‘Auto-update apps over Wi-Fi only’.
